The Ratazanas (dt .: rats) is a Portuguese ska / reggae - band from Lisbon . Her music is influenced by skinhead reggae , Jamaican ska , rocksteady , and early dub .
The group was founded in 2006 in the greater Lisbon area. They released their two albums on Grover Records , an established music label on the scene.
They often tour as a popular backing band for well-known names in early reggae, such as Susan Cadogan or Roy Ellis , the original singer of the band Symarip .
Some of the band's musicians now live in Amsterdam , where they make music in other projects in addition to Ratazanas, such as their drummer and his project with the slackers singer Vic Ruggiero .
