The Reaper (English for "The Reaper ," "The Grim Reaper ", Spanish La parka ) is a biographical short - documentary by Gabriel Serra Argüello from the year 2013 . The film portrays Efrain Jimenez Garcia, a slaughterhouse worker who has killed 500 bulls every day, six days a week, for the past 25 years.

At the 2015 Academy Awards , the film received a nomination in the Best Documentary Short Film category .

The film shows how Efrain started working in the slaughterhouse and how the work around death pays its tribute; starting with nightmares about how the tide turns and the animals take revenge on him.
