Gabriel Serra Argüello

Gabriel Gilberto Serra Argüello (born July 5, 1984 in Managua ) is a Nicaraguan director and cameraman .

Serra Argüello grew up in Managua and initially studied communication with a specialization in radio and television. He then worked in a studio called Erimotion, where he cut commercials and documentaries, among other things. He later decided to study cinematography at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) in Mexico City, where his 2015 Oscar-nominated documentary The Reaper ( La parka ) was made in a documentary workshop. He is the first Nicaraguan to be nominated for an Oscar with a film . His film is about the butcher Efraín, called La Parka .
