The Riverboat Gamblers are a punk rock band from Denton (Texas) , now based in Austin (Texas) . You are currently under contract with Volcom Entertainment .

Career

Pat Lillard, bassist for the Blanks , founded the Riverboat Gamblers with guitarist Fadi el-Assad in 1997. Lillard's goal was to imitate The Candy Snatchers from Virginia. With their songs about drinking and gambling, which they played mainly at parties, they became known beyond Denton's borders. The Big Boys' Tim Kerr produced their first two singles in 2001 and 2003. After the release of Something to Crow About and some positive reviews, the band moved to Austin in 2003. After their appearance at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin in 2003, some major labels became aware of the Riverboat Gamblers, but they signed with the independent label Gearhead Records. In 2005 the band switched to Volcom Entertainment and went on a longer tour that also took them to Europe. In June 2009 they play as the opener of Rancid and Rise Against in North America and then started a tour through Europe.

In soundtracks to the video games Tony Hawk's American Wasteland , Madden 07 , "Flatout Ultimate Carnage" and Skate 2 , the Riverboat Gamblers are also represented.
