The Royal Tutor ( Japanese 王室 教師 ハ イ ネ , ~ Haine , Ōshitsu Kyōshi Heine, German "Royal Domestic Teacher Heine"), with the sub-title Royal Family Teacher , is a manga series by Higasa Akai , which has been published in Japan since 2013. It was implemented as an anime television series in 2017 . A musical has been announced. The work is about the extraordinarily talented teacher Heine Wittgenstein, who is called to the king's court to teach his four younger sons. It belongs to the comedy genre .

action

The child-like, but highly educated and intelligent teacher Heine Wittgenstein is appointed to the palace of the king of Glanzreich to teach the four younger of his five sons. Although his eldest son, Prince One, is highly talented and respected, King Viktor von Glanzreich wants his other sons to be prepared for the throne as well. But many teachers have already failed at the task that the unknown Heine Wittgenstein is now supposed to fulfill. He first tests his new students, tries to get to know them a little and to help everyone with their individual problems in order to make them better heirs to the throne.

The 15-year-old Leonhard von Glanzreich initially rejects Heine brusquely and reveals a deep dislike for all teachers. As a small child, he was overwhelmed by the demands placed on him and has since refused to study. Now he is the dumbest of the princes and behind his arrogant facade naive and childish. Heine can slowly motivate Leonhard to learn again and bring out his positive aspects such as his sportiness.

The precocious 14-year-old Licht von Glanzreich is already notorious among his brothers as a womanizer, often goes to town and brings women to the castle. But despite his happy and sometimes silly behavior, he has a good perception and is initially suspicious of Heine. He secretly goes to work as a waiter in town because he likes the simple work and dealing with guests. When his father finds out and wants to ban it, Heine mediates and Licht can still go to work from time to time.

The educated Bruno von Glanzreich is the third oldest at the age of 16 and initially rejects Heine because he does not consider him worthy. When Heine beats him in every discipline of knowledge, Bruno suddenly worships him as a role model and master. Bruno emulates his gifted oldest brother and learned so much from it. Since he has already written well-known scientific texts and given lectures, he does not know whether he wants to become king at all. Heine motivates him to still prepare for the throne and not lose sight of his scientific interests.

The oldest of the four is 17-year-old Kai von Glanzreich , whose looks and few words scare most people in the palace. In fact, he is a gentle, empathetic person who, however, is unable to express himself and cannot smile because of the worry of frightening others. Heine also convinces him to speak to others at least politely, so that Kai can make initial progress in the conversation.

After Heine had been in the palace for some time, a gossip newspaper reported about Prince Kai's earlier acts of violence in the military school, which is why he and his brothers no longer attend it. In fact, Bruno was bullied there, which is why Kai eventually hit one of the other students. With Heine's help, the princes get a reply. The author is the student from back then, who now even wants to kidnap the prince, which Heine can prevent. However, behind the incident, as behind some of the previous ones, the teacher suspects Count Rosenberg, who wants to reduce the chances of the four princes to throne.

Heine also noticed a report in the newspaper that reported on a criminal who allegedly sneaked into the palace. He gives the prince the task of finding out everything about it. They finally succeed when their father tells them about Heine's past: As a prince, he often went secretly into town and made friends with Heine, who lived with the homeless children. Shortly before King Viktor's coronation, however, his nocturnal excursion is noticed and Heine is mistaken for a kidnapper. Viktor is seriously injured in the fight and Heine is charged with kidnapping and an assassination attempt on the prince. Viktor explains to his father and Heine can soon look after the children in a church in front of the city, but now the accusation threatens to catch up with Heine. To protect the royal family, he leaves the court.

The four princes are very unhappy about the departure of their teacher, the first they ever liked and trusted. Since the Councilor is supposed to choose a new teacher, they propose Heine themselves. With their defense speech for Heine before the council, they can convince the counts that he would raise them to be worthy kings, so that Heine is again appointed head of house.
