Her style of music combines Jewish influences with radical political statements. The band is also known for performing at benefit concerts in the United States.
history
The band was formed in 2006, initially with guitarist Ian Brannigan. He was replaced by Fureigh at the end of 2008. After two demo EPs , The Shondes released their debut album The Red Sea in 2008 and went on tour in the USA . In 2010 the second album, My Dear One, was released . A planned seven-week European tour in the same year was canceled due to violinist Elijah Oberman's cancer. In 2011 the third album Searchlights was released and the band went on tour in the USA from 2011 to May 2012.
