The Soda Stream is a German indie pop band from Hamburg and Munich .

Band history

The Soda Stream was created in 1996 when, due to problems with recording devices, Lars Schneider and Frank Schwesig asked Christoph Hallmann to help them with the technology and to contribute a few guitar parts. The three of them recorded songs that were later released as a Grapefruit EP on Marsh-Marigold Records . During this time Alexa Rose joined the three musicians and delivered a flute solo to an unreleased bonus track. The final formation was found in the winter of 1996/1997 when Arne Kristott and Björn Ehrich took part in the group's first appearance at the annual label festival.

In the winter of 1999/2000, the band began recording their first album Hotel Pacific , which was released in 2000 and contains three exclusive remixes by Optique and Clubkraft . The follow-up album All the things you are was created over a period of two years between 2002 and 2004 and was recorded in Hamburg, Munich, Lyon and Paris. In contrast to Hotel Pacific , the band also took on most of the production. The album, which was released in 2005, combines a wide range of musical elements: guitar pop and classic riffs , electronica and relaxing rhythms. The band then decided to use the digital tracks for a remix album. Therefore, one asked the circle of friends and acquaintances to make remixes and brought out the new interpretations as a free download.
