The Sunshine Underground is an indie rock band from Leeds . The bands Muse , Manic Street Preachers , Daft Punk and the Chemical Brothers had great influences on their style of music, which they call indie rock with dance elements. The name comes from the Chemical Brothers song of the same name.

history

The band was formed in Shrewsbury in 1999 . Shortly afterwards, they moved to Leeds together because they hoped for better performance opportunities there. Through this step they became one of the Leeds bands, which helped them to their first great success. They soon received the LeedsMusicScene's Live Band of the Year trophy and supported LCD Soundsystem on their tour.

In 2006 they went on a festival tour in Europe for the first time and released their debut album Raise the Alarm in August .

On February 1, 2010 her second album Nobody's Coming To Save You was released .

On February 21, 2011, Daley Smith announced that he would be leaving the band in April 2011. The reason he cited was that he needed something new.
