The Understanding ( German: Understanding ) is the Norwegian electronic duo's second studio album Röyksopp and was on July 4, 2005 by Wall of Sound released (London). The single Curves was released on the Internet parallel to The Understanding .

As with Melody AM , The Understanding's pieces were widely used in television commercials and computer games.

Circuit Breaker and Only This Moment were used in an episode of the Danish radio consumer show Discounts . Follow My Ruin was part of the soundtrack for FIFA 06 , the 2005 edition of EA Sports' soccer computer game . What Else Is There? was used by O 2 in a TV commercial in the Czech Republic in 2007 and in Slovakia in 2008. Songs were used in the films Cashback (2006) and Meet Bill (2007). A remixed version of What Else is There? could be heard on an episode of the popular HBO TV series Entourage .
