The builder of the villa, completed in 1836, was the liberal politician George Duncan , who represented the constituency of Dundee in the British Parliament for 16 years . The Vine is located off Roseangle Street, west of Dundee city center. The classicist villa stands on the eastern edge of Magdalen Green not far from the Firth of Tay Bridge . The east-facing main facade of the one-story building is three axes wide. The entrance portal on the central risalit is designed with Doric columns. The risalit is designed like the simple corner pilasters with Greek motifs. The five-axis south facade is designed in the same way as the west facade. Her frieze is decorated with wreaths.
