The Warsaw Hub (formerly as Sienna Towers called) is a complex of three high-rise buildings in the Warsaw city district Wola . The building ensemble has been under construction since 2016 on Rondo Daszyńskiego , a roundabout junction of the main roads Towarowa and Prosta . This is where the Rondo Daszyńskiego station on the second Warsaw metro line (M2) is located.

Building structure

The building complex will consist of three high-rise buildings (one 86 and two 130 meters high) that are connected to one another by a common five-story building base. These lower floors are to be used for parking spaces and by retailers and businesses (such as the Rossmann drugstore and the Biedronka discounter ). The three towers will house two InterContinental hotels (340 rooms and suites under the Holiday Inn Express and Crowne Plaza brands ), offices (tenants including Standard Chartered Bank ), coworking areas (7,000 square meters), a center for developing start-up Ups ( The Heart Warsaw ) as well as a conference center, several restaurants and fitness clubs are located. The complex will have four underground and 31 above-ground floors. The two higher towers will be connected to each other by three double-decker bridges. The total usable area will be 113,000 square meters, of which around 70,000 square meters will be used as offices. The project developer is Ghelamco , the architectural office in charge is AMC - Andrzej M. Chołdzyński . Construction work on the complex began at the beginning of 2016 and construction is scheduled to be completed in February 2020 [obsolete] . The construction costs are estimated at one billion zlotys .

In the late evening of June 7, 2019, a fire broke out on the 25th floor (at a height of about 100 meters), which spread to other floors. The fire could be brought under control by the following day. Fighting it was difficult because at the time no fire extinguishing system was installed in the building and the top floors did not yet have stairs.

Access control

Access to the buildings will be possible for employees of the companies operating there via a smartphone application. The parking garage entrance will be controlled by a license plate recognition system. There will be charging stations for electric vehicles in the parking area. 420 bicycle parking spaces with the necessary infrastructure will be available for cyclists. The metro station will have its own entrance from the complex.

Sky Art Gallery

During the construction, abstract works of art by the painter Łukasz Stokowski (* 1983) will be shown on the climbing formwork . As the building grows, the work of art rises with the formwork. This form of presentation of art during the construction period is used here for the first time in Europe and is known as the Sky Art Gallery .

Awards

The Warsaw Hub already received several awards from International Property Awards during the construction phase . In October 2018 the complex was named “Best Commercial High-rise Development Poland” and in December 2018 as “Best Commercial High-rise Building in Europe”.
