Thea Musgrave
Thea Musgrave (born May 27, 1928 in Bamton near Edinburgh ) is an American composer of Scottish origin.
Life
Musgrave studied at the University of Edinburgh and with Nadia Boulanger in Paris before establishing herself as a composer in London. There she directed the Saltive Singers for several years . In 1970 she was visiting professor at the University of California at Santa Barbara in USA . In 1971 she married the violinist and opera conductor Peter Mark and moved to the USA. In 1974 she was awarded the "Koussevitzky Award". In 1979 she was elected a member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh . Much of her work has appeared in print.
