Theater Gurten
The Gurten Theater is an open-air theater that has been held every two years on the Gurten above Bern ( Switzerland ) since 2002, with performances by a mixed ensemble of amateurs and professionals in the Bernese dialect.
history
The Gurten Theater was founded in 2002 by the director Livia Anne Richard . The premiere of Friedrich Dürrenmatt's first play An Angel Comes to Babylon took place on June 28, 2002. Richard led so far in all the productions in the theater belts Director .
The play Dällebach Kari was such a great success in 2006 that it was reissued in 2007. Over the two years all 50 performances were completely sold out.
Venue
The theater takes place at a temporary venue with a grandstand with around 500 seats. Each production is shown between June and August in around 30 performances in front of around 15,000 spectators, with a break during the Gurten Festival taking place in the adjacent area .
