Livia Anne Richard

Livia Anne Richard (born February 24, 1969 in Bern ) is a Swiss theater director and author .

Life

Richard has been a director and writer of theater productions since the 1990s.

In 2002, she founded the Gurten Theater on Bern's local mountain of the same name, Gurten, and has since been the director of all productions that take place there. The play Dällebach Kari , written by Richard, was premiered there in 2006 and became such a great success that it was reissued on an unscheduled basis the following year. The piece served as the basis for the 2012 film Eine wen iig, dr Dällebach Kari by Oscar winner Xavier Koller .

In 2010 Richard and Markus Maria Enggist , Annemarie Morgenegg, Fredi Stettler and Hank Shizzoe opened the Matte Theater , which specializes in dialect pieces in Bern , where she was artistic director until mid-2016.

In 2014, Richard was named the most influential cultural worker in Bern by the newspaper Bernerbär . In June 2018 she received the 2018 Culture Prize of the Bürgi-Willert-Foundation from Bern, endowed with 50,000 francs. On May 2, 2019, she received the Bern Communication Prize of the Bern Public Relations Society (BPRG).
