Olpketal Theater

The Theater Olpketal is a small family-run theater on Olpketalstraße in the southern Dortmund district of Lücklemberg , in which the Dortmund cabaret artist Bruno Knust (also known under the pseudonym Günna ) usually performs several times a week with various programs. His shows are characterized by the special humor of the Ruhr area, his quick-wittedness and entertainer qualities. In addition, the Olpketal theater regularly offers guest performances by selected artists, such as Robert Kreis , Lioba Albus , Karl Dall , Wolfgang Trepper , Jürgen Becker or Torsten Sträter .

The building, in which the hall, foyer and social rooms are located, was home to the Zum Erlenkrug inn in the late 19th and early 20th centuries , at a time when rural Dortmund-Kirchhörde and -Lücklemberg were a popular excursion destination for the Dortmund population. Damaged by an aerial bomb in the last days of the Second World War , it was repaired again after 1945 and at times served as a warehouse. After a period of vacancy, the house was rented by Bruno Knust and converted into an adventure theater in 1989. The spatial concept of the theater as well as the set, which has been in place since 1989, come from the Dortmund set designer Michael Wienand .

The theater offers seats for almost 200 spectators and has three bars. After an expansion, the gallery on the 1st floor has two lounges that can be rented in connection with a performance visit on the occasion of private or business celebrations and events.
