Michael Wienand
Michael Wienand (* 1949 in Dortmund ) is a German set designer and scenographer .
Wienand studied industrial design in Dortmund and later history and politics in Bochum.
From 1982 he worked as a set and costume designer in all branches of theaters in Dortmund, Kiel, Wuppertal, Mannheim, Potsdam, Krefeld and other theaters in Germany. Collaboration with directors such as Helmut Palitsch , Sabine Schweitzer , Guido Huonder , Johannes Lepper etc. In addition, he created spatial concepts for the new Tivoli Theater in Hamburg as well as the Olpketal Theater and the Hansa Theater Hörde .
Since 1998 he has worked as a scenographer on large-scale productions, light installations and communication architectures in public spaces such as the Big Tipi for the Expo 2000 in Hanover, a 20 m high spade for the Archeology in Germany 2002 exhibition on Potsdamer Platz in Berlin or for the DFB as part of the Football World Cup 2006 .
Since 1998, scenographies and the design of museums and exhibitions have been the focus of his work, including numerous locations of the Westphalian Industrial Museum as well as technology and city museums.
