Theo Thiemeyer

Theo Thiemeyer (born April 22, 1929 in Cologne ; † November 26, 1991 ) was a German economist and professor of social policy and public economy at the Ruhr University in Bochum .

From 1950 he studied business administration at the University of Cologne under Rudolf Seyffert and Gerhard Weisser . In 1954 he graduated with a degree in business administration . Nine years later he did his PhD on marginal cost pricing in public companies . Thiemeyer completed his habilitation on theoretical scientific problems of the material determination of public economy as a business category in 1968 at the University of Cologne. Soon afterwards, however, he turned down the appointment of the University of Cologne to accept that of the newly created one in Linz Accepted the University of Social and Economic Sciences (today JKU ). Thiemeyer held the chair for public administration and public services there for three years . In 1973 he was appointed to an economics chair at the Ruhr University Bochum with an interdisciplinary focus on social policy and public economy , which he held until his death.

In the last few years of his scientific work he devoted himself again to the instrumental function of public companies and basic articles for hand dictionaries and lexicons. Thiemeyer died in 1991 at the age of 62. He was buried in the family grave at the Melaten cemetery in Cologne (hall 20 (E)).
