Theobald Freudenberger

Theobald Freudenberger (born March 23, 1904 in Ebern ; † September 29, 1994 in Würzburg ) was a German Roman Catholic priest and church historian .

Life

After being ordained a priest on March 18, 1928 in Würzburg, he was chaplain in Wörth am Main , Arnstein and Lohr am Main , and preacher in Bad Kissingen . In 1930 he became prefect at the Ferdinandeum in Würzburg. From 1931 to 1933 he was chaplain at the Juliusspital and received his doctorate in theology in 1934 . From December 15, 1966 until his retirement on April 1, 1972, he worked as a full professor for church history in the Middle Ages and modern times.
