The Theodolite Hill ( English for theodolite -Hügel ) is a 680 m (according to British specifications 775 m ) high hill with a small rocky outcrop at the summit in Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises at the southeast end of a table mountain -like mountain about 8 km west of the northwest end of Duse Bay in the northeast of the Trinity Peninsula .
The hill was discovered in 1946 by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey , which used it as a fixed point for land surveying using a theodolite, which in turn gave its name.
