Life

Theodor Bödefeld studied at the Technical Universities of Darmstadt and Hanover .

In 1922 he started at the Thyssen machine factory in Mülheim an der Ruhr . In 1926, Bödefeld moved to the Technical University of Karlsruhe as assistant to Rudolf Richter , where he did his doctorate on the natural oscillation of synchronous machines. In 1931 Bödefeld became a professor at the Badisches Staatstechnikum in Karlsruhe. In 1935, as the successor to Johann Ossanna , he moved to the Technical University of Munich to the chair for electrical machines. His teaching and work area included the mode of operation, construction and testing of electrical machines, transformers, converters and electrical energy transmission. In 1943 and 1944 he was visiting professor at Istanbul Technical University .

Theodor Bödefeld had to leave the chair in Munich for political reasons after the Second World War . When he was called to Istanbul in 1947, he was refused entry there. In 1952 he took over the management of the calculation offices and later the technical management in the dynamo factory of Siemens-Schuckertwerke AG in Berlin.
