Theodor Baumann (civil engineer)

Theodor Baumann (* 1941 ) is a German civil engineer.

Baumann studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Munich , where he received his doctorate with Hubert Rüsch in 1971 and from 1965 to 1971 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Solid Construction with Rüsch and Herbert Kupfer .

Baumann joined Dyckerhoff & Widmann in 1971 , where he became head of the technical office in Munich in 1989 . His projects there included the Skye Bridge with a span of 250 m from Skye to the Scottish mainland, which was opened in 1995. He also developed the concrete support system for magnetic levitation trains at Dyckerhoff with Dieter Hilliges (* 1937) .

In 2007 he received the Emil Mörsch memorial coin , the highest German award for reinforced concrete.
