history

The glass refinery workshop was founded in 1900 by Theodor Bienert in Arnultovice near Haida . The workshop focused on refining glass through painting, etching , grinding and sandblasting . Theodor Bienert was the originator of several new glass finishing techniques , the best known of which is a method called Thebi (derived from the initials of the name). Bienert's best-known works are his trophies in black-violet, faceted glass with an antiqued figure frieze in needle etching and rubbed with polished gold on a marbled ground in polychrome opaque enamel for Goldberg. In addition to Carl Goldberg, Bienert also worked with the Haida Glass School, founded in 1869, which produced vases of the highest quality.

The workshop ended its independent operation in 1948.
