Theodor Hermann von Spiegel zum Desenberg and Canstein (* December 6, 1712 - May 11, 1779 ) was Landdrost of the Duchy of Westphalia .

family

He came from the noble family von Spiegel . His father was Johann Eberhard von Spiegel. The mother was Josina Maria Antoinette (born von Schade ). He himself was married twice. His first wife was Maria Theresia von Niederklingenburg. The later Electoral Cologne Minister Franz Wilhelm von Spiegel emerged from the marriage, along with two other children . His second wife was Adolphine Franziska von Landsberg zu Erwitte . With this he had five children. Among them was the later Archbishop of Cologne Ferdinand August von Spiegel and Friedrich Wilhelm von Spiegel zum Desenberg .

Life

Von Spiegel had been the secret conference councilor of the Electorate of Cologne and the royal Paderborn secret council since 1747 . In 1758 he became Landdrost of the Duchy of Westphalia and thus deputy to the Elector of Cologne in this territory. He was thus also president of the equestrian order in the Westphalian state parliament . He was also Drost in Marsberg and Volkmarsen . In 1762 he became the owner of the Klingenburger Hof in Bühne .

After his death, his son Franz Wilhelm was his successor in the office of Landdrosten.
