Stage is a district of the East Westphalian town of Borgentreich in the Höxter district in North Rhine-Westphalia and has around 1200 inhabitants.

Geographical location

Stage is located on the edge of the Warburger Börde on the border between East Westphalia and North Hesse in the southeast of the Teutoburg Forest / Eggegebirge Nature Park . The village is on a rising ground: the lowest point is about 225  m above sea level. NN , the highest at around 275  m above sea level. NN . The Hohe Berg , located about two km east of the village and belonging to the Beverplatten , which is part of the stage, is 370.9  m above sea level. NN high. The Alster tributary of the Diemel rises in the village pond , into which a stream, also known as the Alster , flows in the village .

Neighborhoods

The core town of Borgentreich is to the west of Bühne , to the southwest is Körbecke , to the east are Manrode and Muddenhagen , to the north Borgholz and Natzungen (all are villages or districts of Borgentreich).

history

Stage was founded around 850, then under the name 'Piun'. With the Burg Bühne , Bühne was one of the knights' seats for the rural nobility of Paderborn Abbey .

The Jewish cemetery is a reminder of the town's Jewish past.

On January 1, 1975, Bühne was incorporated into the town of Borgentreich.

Regular events

The rifle festival is held every second year in the Alsterhalle. In the years without the Schützenfest, the fire brigade and the Kyffhäuser festival are held alternately.

Personalities

  • Karl Hengst , long-time director of the Archbishop's Academic Library in Paderborn and author of numerous church-historical studies and publications, is a native of Bühne.
  • Kurt Guss , psychologist, author of numerous books and director of the Ostwestfalen Academy and its publishing house, has lived in Bühne since 1975.
