Location of Natzungen in Borgentreich

Natzungen is a district of Borgentreich in the Höxter district , North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

The first documented mention of Natzungen goes back to the year 1036, when Bishop Bruno von Würzburg gave the Würzburg Church the Sunrike estate (desert) ( Borgentreich ) and his ministerial Richbold and his wife Richeze two Hufe land in Natesingen .

Up until the 15th century there was both an Obernatzungen and a Niedernatzungen (near today's Borgholz train station). The latter was probably destroyed in the Soest feud by the Hussites , who fought on the side of the Archbishop of Cologne, Dietrich , so that only the place Obernatzungen remained, which is identical to today's place Natzungen.

On January 1, 1975, the independent municipality of Natzungen, Amt Borgentreich was incorporated into the new city of Borgentreich as a result of Section 35 of the Sauerland / Paderborn Act .

Residents

The district of Natzungen has 688 inhabitants.
