history

The estate was first mentioned in 1146. In 1640 it was bequeathed to the Büren Jesuits by Moritz von Büren . Since 1823 it has been managed by Haus Büren'schen Fonds, which is now owned by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Over time, the building fell into disrepair, so that only a barn and a residential tower remain from the old structure. Today the estate has a total area of 145 hectares.
