Theodor Hultzsch

Traugott Theodor Hultzsch (born November 8, 1831 in Dresden ; † November 5, 1904 there ) was a German conservative politician .

Live and act

After attending the first citizen school in Dresden, Hultzsch completed a commercial apprenticeship in a hardware store. He then worked for the drugstore Gehe & Co for 15 years , including 10 years as an authorized signatory . In 1866 he founded the Hch company with his stepbrother . Kühn & Hultzsch . From 1849 he was a member of the Dresden Chamber of Commerce and Industry, of which he was president from 1882. He was also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sächsische Bank . He had the title of a Commerce Councilor .

After a two-year term as a city councilor, he was elected to the city council of Dresden, to which he belonged for 12 years until his voluntary resignation at the end of 1886. From 1887 to 1893 he was a member of the Reichstag ( German Conservative Party ) as a representative of the 5th Saxon constituency (Dresden on the left of the Elbe ). From 1891 until his death, Hultzsch was a member of the first chamber of the Saxon state parliament , appointed by the king .

Hultzsch was born with Anna Greiff married. Their son Eugen Hultzsch (1857–1927) was a well-known Indologist . Hultzsch died in Dresden in 1904 and was buried in the Trinitatisfriedhof .
