Theodor Sachau (born October 27, 1854 in Kiel , † July 29, 1934 in Bremerhaven ) was a German Protestant pastor and home historian.

biography

Sachau graduated from high school in Hadersleben . He studied Protestant theology at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel and the University of Leipzig . He then worked as an assistant preacher and tutor in various places. In 1884 he was elected preacher by the Uniate Church in Bremerhaven. He was a liberal, Protestant theologian who was represented in various church organizations. In 1926 he retired as a preacher. His work The Older History of the City of Bremerhaven , published in 1927, became important . In 1931 the book on the Bürgermeister-Smidt-Gedächtniskirche was published under the title: The History of the Church of the United Evangelical Lutheran and Reformed Congregation in Bremerhaven .
