Theodor Snowman

Theodor Schneemann (born April 15, 1873 in Wesel ; †  September 23, 1958 ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1946 to 1950 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

After elementary school, Schneemann attended grammar school, where he graduated from high school. He then completed a law degree at the Universities of Leipzig , Freiburg im Breisgau , Rome , Berlin and Bonn . He then worked as a court trainee in Wesel , Duisburg, Kiel and Hamm before working as a court assessor in Bottrop and Essen from 1903 to 1905. From 1905 to 1914 he was employed as a magistrate in Dinslaken. A study trip to Russia followed in 1912. From 1914 to 1918 he was a captain of the reserve in the First World War. Afterwards he was district administrator in Wesel from 1919 to 1933, during the Second World War he was not politically active.

Only after the end of the Second World War did Schneemann join the CDU in 1945. He was a member of the board of the "Lippeverband" and district chairman of the CDU. From 1946 he was district administrator of the Rees district in Wesel. He was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from December 19, 1946 to June 17, 1950, first he was appointed to the second term of office and then directly elected to parliament in the constituency of 77 Rees for a legislative period. On May 19, 1947, he opened the first session of the elected state parliament as senior president .
