Theodor Thurmann

Theodor Thurmann (born May 14, 1882 ; † May 11, 1955 ) was a German administrative lawyer.

Career

Thurmann studied law and political science as well as economics. In Munich he passed the examination for the higher judicial and administrative service and subsequently entered the Prussian civil service. He was assessor in Charlottenburg and mayor in Sopot. During the First World War, he headed the Reich Office for Shoe Supply. Later he found employment with the rank of Ministerialrat in the Reich Ministry of Economics . After leaving the company, he worked as managing director of the general committee and the foreign trade association of the paper processing industry in the private sector.

In the years after the Second World War, he was initially Legal Secretary in the Economics Department of the Berlin City Council . In 1949 he was appointed chairman of the jury committee for blockade aid. In 1950 he was appointed trustee of the newly founded Rheinmetall-Borsig AG . He was later a member of the board of directors and chairman of the company's supervisory board.
