Theodoros Georgios Orphanides
Theodoros Georgios Orphanides ( Greek Θεόδωρος Γεώργιος Ορφανίδης ; * 1817 ; † August 5, 1886 in Athens ) was a Greek botanist and poet. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Orph. "

From 1848 he was professor of botany in Athens.
Honors
The genus Orphanidesia Boiss. & Balansa ex Boiss. from the family of the heather plants (Ericaceae) is named after him.
