Theodoros Katsanevas

Theodoros Katsanevas ( Greek Θεόδωρος Κατσανέβας ; * 1947 in Athens ) is a Greek economist and politician. From 1989 to 2004 he was a  member of the Greek parliament as a member of the social democratic party PASOK . In May 2013 he founded the Euro-critical party Drachma - Greek Democratic Movement of Five Stars .

Life

Katsanevas holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Piraeus and an MA from the University of Warwick . He received his PhD in 1980 from the London School of Economics with a thesis on the trade union movement in Greece

In 1981 he married Sophia Papandreou, the daughter of the Greek Prime Minister Andreas Papandreou . In the same year he became president of the state employment service OAED, in 1985 head of the social insurance institute IKA.

From 1989 to 2004 he was a  member of the Greek parliament as a member of the social democratic party PASOK . His marriage ended in divorce in 2000.

In May 2013 he founded the party Drachma - Greek Democratic Movement of the Five Stars , which, among other things, calls for Greece's exit from the euro zone.

Katsanevas teaches labor market theory, career guidance and human resource management at the University of Piraeus .

In 2014 it became known that Katsenavas had sued a 21-year-old Wikipedia author and administrator for 200,000 euros in damages for additions to his article, even though these were proven by reliable secondary sources. Katsenavas also sued a Greek free / open software organization for "mistaking it for the operator of Wikipedia".
