The Theophanoplatz in Cologne district ruler is under monument protection standing park.

The small park was created in 1910 during the expansion of Theophanostraße as a decorative complex with a fountain. The design comes from the garden architect Fritz Encke , who as the royal gardening director and Cologne's city gardening director also designed numerous other parks and squares in Cologne.

The park was landscaped designed with hedges, shrubs and flowers. The Fischreiterbrunnen by Georg Grasegger , which was built years later and is also a listed building, is located on the square . Play equipment was later set up in the middle of the green area and the square was converted into a playground .

Theophanoplatz and Theophanostraße are named after Theophano , Otto II's wife and empress of the Roman-German Empire .
