Theophil Frey (lawyer)
Theophil Heinrich Frey (born January 20, 1881 in Stuttgart ; † July 5, 1957 there ) was a German administrative lawyer .
Life
Frey was born as the son of the building officer and architect Theophil Heinrich Frey and the merchant's daughter Marie Auguste Bauer. After attending grammar school in Stuttgart between 1889 and 1899 and a year as a one-year volunteer , he studied law at the universities of Tübingen and Leipzig from 1900 to 1904 . In 1905 he passed the 1st examination for the higher judicial service in Württemberg, in 1908 the II.
Between 1908 and 1911 he practiced as a lawyer. In 1912 he entered the state service in Württemberg. Interrupted from military service in 1914/18, he worked from 1912 to 1933 in various tasks, most recently as a theater advisor, in the Württemberg Ministry of Education. In 1914 he was appointed senior government assessor, in 1917 a councilor and in 1920 a ministerial councilor.
After his release from the Ministry of Culture, he was director of the Württemberg State Library from 1933 . In 1939 he was reappointed to the Ministry of Culture.
