Theophil Herbst

Theophil Herbst (born August 6, 1806 in Königsberg i. Pr. , † April 29, 1868 ibid) was a German philologist and university professor in Königsberg.

Life

After graduating from the Collegium Fridericianum , Herbst studied philology at the Albertus University in Königsberg . In 1824 he became a member of the Masurian Association, the preliminary connection of the Corps Masovia . In 1840 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD . He became a teacher and senior teacher at the municipal secondary school for girls in Königsberg. He was a lecturer at the Albertus University in Königsberg, and from 1865 an associate professor for newer (Romance) languages.
