Therese Lukasser

Therese Lukasser (born September 11, 1932 in St. Jakob in Defereggen ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and teacher . From 1988 to 1989 she was a member of the Tyrolean state parliament and from 1989 to 1999 a member of the Austrian Federal Council .

education and profession

Lukasser attended elementary school in St. Jakob in Defereggen from 1938 to 1944 and then graduated from the Bundesrealgymnasium in Graz from 1944 to 1947 . She then studied from 1947 to 1952 at the teacher training institute in Innsbruck and in 1955 acquired the teaching qualification for elementary schools. In 1971 she also completed the teaching post for secondary schools. Lukasser also studied pedagogy and political science at the University of Innsbruck from 1987 . Lukasser worked as a teacher at elementary and secondary schools from 1952 to 1988. She also worked from 1979 to 1988 as a consultant in the context of teacher training and in adult education institutions. She was subsequently appointed school councilor in 1989.

politics

Lukasser began her political career in local politics, where she ran for the municipal council elections in 1980 in Matrei in East Tyrol. She came in fourth on the list of “farmers, workers, entrepreneurs and women” and was able to move up to first place on the list thanks to the numerous preferential votes. Between 1980 and 1986 she was the first and only woman on the municipal council of Matrei in East Tyrol. In addition, from 1980 to 1986 she was a member of the community council of Matrei in East Tyrol. Lukasser represented the ÖVP in the Tyrolean state parliament from 1988 to 1989 and then moved to the Federal Council on April 4, 1989, where she was, among other things, chairwoman of the teaching committee, chairwoman of the committee for teaching and cultural affairs and deputy chairwoman of the social committee. Lukasser left the Federal Council on March 29, 1999.

Lukasser was a member of the regional party executive of the ÖVP Tirol from 1993 onwards, and from 1979 to 1997 she was also the district leader of the Austrian women's movement (ÖFB) in the Lienz district. From 1984 to 1989 she also held the position of deputy regional director of ÖFB Tirol and from 1979 to 1989 she was a member of the council of the regional school council for Tyrol.
