Thesprotiko ( Greek Θεσπρωτικό ( n. Sg. )) Is a municipality in the municipality of Ziros in the Greek region of Epirus .

location

The municipality of Thesprotiko is located in the northwest of the municipality of Ziros. In the north it borders Dodoni . Two mountain ranges of the Thesprotika Mountains (Θεσπρωτικά Όρη) form the natural border to the neighboring municipal districts of Louros and Kranea in the west and Filippiada in the east. The narrow valley is drained from the Lakkiotikos to the south in the Louros .

Administrative division

The municipality of Thesprotiko emerged from the 1997 regional reform from the amalgamation of seven rural municipalities with the municipality of the same name Thesprotiko. This in turn was founded in 1919 as a rural community with the Slavic name Lelova (Greek Λέλοβα ( n. Pl. )), Which is still in use today among the residents. On April 1, 1927, Lelova was given the name Thesprotiko and in 1948 was elevated to a parish.

With the administrative reform in 2010 , it was merged with three other municipalities to form the new municipality of Ziros, where it has since formed a municipality. This is divided into eight local communities.
