Theyab Awana Ahmed Hussein Al Musabi ( Arabic ذياب عوانة; * April 8, 1990 in Abu Dhabi ; † September 25, 2011 ibid) was a soccer player from the United Arab Emirates who was active in both youth and adulthood at Baniyas SC .

Career

Internationally, he represented his country from September 24 to October 16, 2009 at the U-20 World Cup in Egypt , where he played in the three group matches and in the second round, won 2-1 against Venezuela. His only goal in this tournament he scored in the first group game against the selection of South Africa with the 2-2 draw in stoppage time.

He also took part as part of the national team at the 2011 Asian Cup in Qatar , but retired with the team after the group stage as bottom of the table from the tournament - without having been used; as in the qualifiers . He played his last international match on July 23, 2011 in al-Ain in a 3-0 win over India as part of qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

He achieved notoriety with the penalty that was converted by hacking trick on July 17, 2011 in al Ain to make it 6-2 in the international test match against Lebanon .

Awana was killed in a traffic accident in Abu Dhabi on September 25, 2011. According to the police report, the accident occurred on Sheikh Zayed Bridge. Awana is said to have used his cell phone while driving and died at the scene of the accident. He was buried on September 26, 2011 after the afternoon prayer in the cemetery of his Baniyas club in Shamkha, Abu Dhabi.
