Thiemo Breyer

Thiemo Breyer (born June 30, 1981 ) is a German philosopher .

Life

The study (2001-2006) of philosophy, anthropology and cognitive science at the universities of Cambridge and Freiburg he graduated there in 2010 with the promotion of Dr. phil. in philosophy. From 2006 to 2010 he worked at the Husserl archive at the University of Freiburg. From 2010 to 2014 he was an assistant at the Karl Jaspers Chair for Philosophy and Psychiatry at the University of Heidelberg . After completing his habilitation in 2014 and being awarded the Venia legendi in philosophy at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg , he was a fellow at the Mahindra Humanities Center at Harvard University from 2014 to 2015 . From 2014 to 2018 he taught as a junior professor for Transformations of Knowledge at the University of Cologne . From 2014 to 2019 he was a fellow at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research at Bielefeld University . In 2016 he turned down the professorship for Philosophical Foundations of Psychology at the University of Witten / Herdecke . From 2017 to 2018 he was visiting professor at the Center for Intercultural Studies at the University of Mainz . Since 2018 he has been Heisenberg Professor for Phenomenology and Anthropology at the University of Cologne .

His main research interests are phenomenology, philosophical anthropology and philosophy of mind.
