Thierry Perreux (born March 4, 1963 in Soisy-sous-Montmorency ) is a French handball coach and former handball player .

Career

The 1.78 m tall Thierry Perreux played on the right winger position . The left-hander started playing handball at Saint-Gratien / Sannois HB. In 1980 he moved to the first division club USM Gagny , with whom he was French champion in 1981, 1982, 1985, 1986 and 1987 and cup winner in 1987. After eleven years he left Gagny and ran in the 1991/92 season for Vénissieux HB , with which he won the double in 1992 . The following four seasons he was active for the financially strong club OM Vitrolles , with which he became champion in 1994 and 1996, cup winner in 1993 and 1995 and in 1993 winner of the European Cup Winners' Cup . At the end of his career he played for UMS Pontault-Combault HB until 1998 .

With the French national team , Thierry Perreux won the bronze medal at the 1992 Olympic Games . A year later he was runner- up at the world championship. He achieved his greatest success at the 1995 World Cup , where he became world champion. In total, Perreux played 248 internationals in which he scored 476 goals.

After the end of his career, Thierry Perreux was coach in Villeurbanne from 2002 and handball at Tremblay-en-France from 2007 . Perreux has been the assistant coach of his long-time companion Philippe Gardent at Paris Saint-Germain since 2012 , with whom he won the championship in 2013.
