Thies Ziemke

Thies Ziemke (born September 27, 1948 in Kiel ) is a German fund manager and former publisher .

Ziemke studied history and Slavic studies in Kiel and received his doctorate in 1979. In 1983 he founded the Neue Malik Verlag , which published Russian literature, among other things. After the end of the Soviet Union, he opened a branch of the publishing house in Moscow in 1990. In 1996 he sold the Neue Malik Verlag to the Piper Verlag . Since 1996 he has been working as an asset manager and fund manager with a focus on Russia stocks. In 1999 he co-founded the consulting and investment company Kremlin AG (now Hamburg), which specializes in the Russian capital market and which he headed as a board member until 2005. From 2000 to 2003 he was a member of the supervisory board of Eichborn AG .

Ziemke lives in Moscow.
