Thilo Berndt
Thilo Max Philipp Berndt (born October 9, 1998 ) is a German singer.
Life
Berndt sang since 2005 in the Gospel Project Ruhr under the direction of Christa Merle. From September 2007 to January 2008 he took part in the Disney musical Beauty and the Beast in Oberhausen . In the summer of 2008 he starred in the short film Bienenstich ist aus , directed by Sarah Winkenstette .
In November 2008 he reached second place in the casting show Kiddy Contest of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation with the song Abgeblitzt .
In the summer of 2009, Berndt qualified for the final in the television program Teenage Rockstar Summercamp , and in 2010 he won this competition together with the Austrian Louise Aumann. In 2010 he also appeared in front of the camera for the television productions Stadtgeflüster and Wohin der Weg mich leads ( broadcast on ARD in November 2012 ). At the end of the year he released the Christmas single On the Day before Christmas with Louise Aumann .
In 2012, Berndt was sixth and also the best German in his age group in Global Rockstars , a worldwide internet competition on the subject of environmental protection and sustainability. Then he landed with one of his songs in the semifinals of the ISC Nashville , an international songwriting competition.
In December 2014 he reached the final of the UK Songwriting Contest as one of ten teens among over a thousand applicants.
In autumn 2016, as a non-native speaker, he won the Lyrics only category at the UK Songwriter Contest.
Berndt lives with his parents and a sister in Bochum .
Since September 2017 Thilo has been studying the bachelor's degree in pop music design with a focus on singer / songwriter at the Popakademie in Mannheim and also lives in Mannheim.
In autumn 2018 he was chosen among the 20 best artists to represent Germany in the ESC.
In May 2019 release of his single "disconnected" on all common streaming and download portals. The single was also released as a music video on YouTube. His music can best be classified under Contemporary RnB.
