The Taluk Thiruvaiyaru ( Tamil : திருவையாறு வட்டம் ) is a Taluk ( sub- district) of the Thanjavur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu . The main town is the eponymous city of Thiruvaiyaru . The Taluk Thiruvaiyaru has around 190,000 inhabitants.

The Taluk Thiruvaiyaru is located in the Kaveri Delta in the west of the Thanjavur district. The westernmost point of the taluk is at the Grand Anicut Dam , where the Kaveri River divides into several estuary arms.
