Thomas Adasch (born March 30, 1965 in Celle ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He has been a directly elected member of the Lower Saxony State Parliament since 2008 .

Life and work

After completing secondary school  I and attending a commercial college, Thomas Adasch became a police officer in the Lower Saxony police force in 1982 . In 2001 he was promoted to the higher service . He practiced this profession until his election to the Lower Saxony state parliament, most recently as a member of the staff of the President of the Central Police Directorate of Lower Saxony. Since 2008 he has represented constituency 46 (Celle) as a directly elected member of the Lower Saxony state parliament.

The father of two is married and lives in Hambühren .

Political party

In 1982 Thomas Adasch joined the CDU and the Junge Union (JU). From 1987 to 1992 he was chairman of the JU district association in Celle. From 1989 to 2009 he was chairman of the CDU community association Hambühren and from 2009 to 2011 chairman of the CDU city association Celle .

MP

In the state elections in 2008 , 2013 and 2017 , Thomas Adasch won the direct mandate in the constituency of Celle (2008: 45.6 percent; 2013: 44.2 percent; 2017: 37.7%). He is a member of the Committee on Home Affairs and Sport, the Committee on Legal and Constitutional Issues and the Committee on Affairs of the Protection of the Constitution . Since 2017 he has been chairman of the Committee on Home Affairs and Sport. Thomas Adasch is also the spokesperson for police policy and for the protection of the constitution in the CDU parliamentary group.

Local politics

Thomas Adasch has been a member of the local council in his home town of Hambühren since 1986 . He has also been a member of the district council since 1991 and deputy district administrator for the district of Celle since 2006 . Thomas Adasch has been chairman of the Hambühren municipality since 2011. Since 2016 he has also been chairman of the Celle district council.

From 2001 to 2003 Thomas Adasch was mayor of Hambühren.

Volunteering

Thomas Adasch is an honorary member of the supervisory board of the General Hospital Celle and the Lobetalarbeit Celle eV as part of his mandate. He also acts as the patron of the DMSG contact group 'Die MuSchel' Celle.
