Thomas Blades

Thomas "Tom" Blades (* 1956 in Hamburg ) is a British manager .

Life

Blades was born in Hamburg to a British father and a German mother. He studied electrical engineering in Salford and Lyon . From 1978 to 1996, Blades worked for the US company Schlumberger , most recently as Vice President. In 1996, Blades became Executive Vice President of NUMAR Corporation in Houston and was subsequently employed by Halliburton . In 1998, Blades became managing director of SPECTRO Analytical Instruments GmbH in Kleve . In 2004 he moved to CHOREN Industries GmbH Hamburg / Freiberg as managing director. From 2009 to 2012 he was CEO of the Siemens Oil & Gas Division. Blades has been on the Executive Board of Linde AG since March 2012 . On May 3, 2016, Blades was appointed by the Bilfinger Supervisory Board to succeed Per Utnegaard as CEO of the German construction and services group. He should take up the position by the third quarter of 2016 at the latest and did so on July 1, 2016.

In addition to English, Blades is also fluent in German.
