The Nelsenmühle is located on the Nette, on Breyeller Strasse, in the Breyell district in the town of Nettetal in the Viersen district in North Rhine-Westphalia . history

The Nelsenmühle is located on the connecting road between Lobberich and Breyell, which crosses the Nette and separates Lake Breyeller from the Nettebruchsee. It belongs to the old jülich'schen fief "ten Elsen" that in the 1495 investiture was first mentioned in William of Krickenbeck. The enfeoffment happened, characteristic of a ban mill , "met moele end laeten". In 1764 the estate and mill passed into bourgeois hands.

The following information is available from the Nelsenmühle from 1835: The mill has 2 water wheels, 3 gears, 1 channel and 1 exchange mechanism for flour and oil. The tax amount for the mill is 12 thalers .

After the Second World War , the mill was operated with a turbine instead of a water wheel. In 1963 the mill was stopped. Attempts - after the closure - to generate energy with the turbine did not succeed. The buildings were converted into apartments.

Monument entry

Mid 19th century; former three-winged mill, of which the front angular building with two-storey brick residential building in four axes with arched window and frieze has been preserved; Gable side later with newer window openings, gate entrance changed, utility wing 1½-storey.
