The Kranenbach is an orographically right tributary of the Schwalm in the Lower Rhine district of Viersen .

The source is located near the Vennbachhof near Ungerath (municipality of Schwalmtal ) at an altitude of around 60  m above sea level. NN . The stream is almost 9.5 kilometers long and flows into the Borner Mühle at a height of about 40  m above sea level. NN . in the Schwalm. The Kranenbach takes the water from the Haversloher Bach (1.5 kilometers long), the Heidweiher Bach (1.5 kilometers long), the Vogelsrather Bach (1.7 kilometers long), the Schageher Bach (1.4 kilometers long) and the Mountain moat with a length of 2.3 kilometers in its course.

The Kranenbach was straightened in 1925/26. The care and maintenance of the water is the responsibility of the Schwalm Association , which is based in Brüggen .
