history
The Weuthenmühle was originally also called Boisheimer Mühle. It was built in 1662 by Phillip Wilhelm zu Boisheim near the Boisheimer Weiher . This is what it says in the Brüggen office's pension book from 1725. The construction costs amounted to 505 guilders, 32 Albus and 11 Heller .
In the same place there was probably a mill before; in a lay judge from the 14./15. In the 16th century the border of the Holzgedings was “to Boisheim onder dat muelen raet”.
In 1715 the right of lease fell to the Gladbach Benedictines , who then lost it in the secularization of 1802 . In 1870 the mill received a small 6 HP steam engine because the water was insufficient for daily operation. The mill was shut down around 1960. The mighty stones from the pan mill are still reminiscent of the former oil mill.
