Thomas Bodmer (born March 28, 1960 in Aarau ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ).

biography

Bodmer attended primary school in Mellingen and Untersiggenthal , the district school in Turgi and the canton school in Baden . After graduating from high school in 1979, he studied economics at the University of Zurich , where he received his lic. oec. publ. graduated.

Professionally, Bodmer first worked for a business organization in the field of marketing and then for a market research company . In 1990 he took a stake in a small trust company , although the originally planned succession plan did not materialize in 1999. After completing his training as a tax expert, Thomas Bodmer worked at Pricewaterhousecoopers, BDO Visura and KPMG in a leading position at large trust companies, where he made a name for himself nationally and internationally as a VAT specialist.

Besides Bodmer built a political career and was in the 1997 Einwohnerrat of Wettingen selected. In 2001 he was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau as an SVP member and was re-elected in 2005. At the end of 2007, he resigned from his board of directors for professional reasons. He mainly dealt with financial and economic policy and is the founder of the Association of Taxpayers Aargau.
