Thomas Cornelius

Thomas Emanuel Cornelius (* 1986 in Schleswig ) is a German composer , organist and conductor .

Thomas Cornelius learned organ with Eberhard Lauer and Wolfgang Zerer , composition with Reinhard Bahr and Oliver Korte and conducting with Hannelotte Pardall. He attended the University of Music Lübeck and the University of Music and Theater in Hamburg .

Cornelius regularly plays with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra and has played under conductors such as Herbert Blomstedt , Christoph Eschenbach and Thomas Hengelbrock , Kent Nagano . He also works regularly in film and television productions. Since 2017 he has been guest conductor of the Polish choir and orchestra Zespół Śląsk.
